His childhood



Edgar Allan Poe is an American poet.He was born in Boston in 1809.

His mother was an actress and his father was ,too.

Edgar was the second child in the family ,his father was an alcoholic,

he deserted his family.

Edgar's mother died of misery and consumption.He was adopted

by the Allans whose name was added to his .He accompagned them

to England where he attended good schools.They returned

Richmond where he raceived an excellent education in literature ,

music and religion.

His studies :


In 1820, Edgar attended the university of Verginia ,he resorted to

drinking and gambling because he was left penniless , so he left

university.

In 1829 ,he joined the army.He reconciled with Mr Allan.

Before he joined the army ;he published some poems when he

returned to his birth place.He revised some poems after he was

released from the army and a second volume.

He was influenced by British poets.In 1837 ,he worked for literary

magazines and he did hack writing to survive.In 1836 ,he got married

with Verginia.

- 1827 :he published a volume of verse M "Tamarlane and other poems"

- 1828 :he composed :"El -Araf "

- -1831 :he published :To Helene " and ""Israfel "

- 1840 :Tales of Grotast and Arabesque.

- 1845:"Raven ".

- He wrote short tales.


- He was a Romentic poet.


- He had a knowledge about Koran ;for this reason he wrote

" Israfel "


- He was a Aesthetic writer .


- He was sleashing critic.
